Description
A "Black" Ethiopian opal. This is a semi transparent stone, with natural inclusions on the back of the stone. Please watch the video to get an idea of the color play.
At this time, there have been sparse claims about black ethiopian opal however, most of them have been proven false through labratory testing. I have purchased this opal from a dealer and have not have it tested. It is assumed to have been smoke treated to achieve the partial black coloring.
This stone has beeen in my collection ffor over 5 years without any signs of developing cracks or crazing which is strong inditation that it is a good stone.
