I do a lot of these. Client comes to me with a single image of a ring they lost (Usually a fuzzy cell phone pic from an odd angle) Original artist wont make it again, or is gone, dead, or otherwise out of the picture. So I create a 3d model of the ring, doing my best to keep it as close to the original as possible. I think in this case we had about 2 revisions before it was finalized to their liking, as I had questions about what the engraving said and what that swirl on the lower half of the band looked like. They were very helpful and also had a few more side images. Once I have their approval and we settle payment, then I make the ring! In this case, I can see a few minor differences, but the overall effect is the same and I daresay it is just as handsome as the first.
