The customer wanted something rustic and strong to hold their ammolite gemstone. I was given a rough drawing to use as inspiration and this is the finished result. Crafted in sterling silver. I took advantage of the metals ability to oxidize and used the contrast to create textured talon like claws which hold the stone in place. this texture is then repeated on the sides of the ring shank as well.
